Happy Father's Day!

Happy First Father's Day Brett!

Preston {7 Months} {8 Months}

Where have I been? This busy mommy missed her baby's 7 month post, so I'm going to start with some 7 month stats, and then move on to 8 months (where we're at now!), filling you in on what we've been up to these past two months along the way.

At 7 months, Preston became a totally new baby. So much happened this month.
  • Went from laying down to sitting up all by himself. (He started this at 7 months exactly, during our trip to Dallas for Mother's Day.)
  • Started standing up in his crib.
  • Started crawling at 7 1/2 months! Time to baby proof the house...
  • Sleep habits took a turn for the worse--he had been sleeping through the night, but ever since he learned to sit up and stand up, he was up several times throughout the night wanting company. Of course, we also had a lot of travel that probably threw him off his schedule. It was a major bummer taking such a step back in this department!
  • Babbles constantly. His favorite sound is Baa, Baa, Baa...
  • Is Strong!
  • Knows who Winston is. When I say "Winston" he looks down at the ground for him.
  • Became a Momma's Boy--at this age, he started to just want me to comfort him.
  • Our living room officially has no coffee table anymore. Yup, I never thought I would let the kid stuff take over my house, but it has. And I really don't mind as much as I thought I would. It's nice having a place for him to play downstairs.
  • Got sick for the first time. He had his first double ear infection and pink eye, and mommy had her first ear infection too. It was not a fun week!
  • Went swimming for the first time, Memorial Day weekend
At 8 months,
  • Preston weighs 23 pounds
  • Stands with assistance, but can guide his way walking along the couch all by himself
  • Sleeps through the night again. (7 PM-6 AM) Halleluiah!
  • Pets Winston if Winston will let him. He is ready to be friends with Winston, but Winston--not so much.
  • Is so curious! Wants to see and touch anything new.
  • Still no teeth...
  • Sucks on his finger a lot
  • Naps 2, sometimes 3, times a day, mostly still in his stroller.
  • Has a very short attention span. And he does not like to be left alone.
  • Has so much energy. He is such a little boy!!
  • Changing his diaper is like wrestling a calf. He absolutely hates it and will not sit still. Has been known to turn over and start crawling away in the middle of the diaper change, all while screaming.
  • Eats anything and everything. I am still making his baby food fresh, with the exception of when we travel, and he loves to try new things. He started eating meat this month, and has also been eating a lot of yogurt.
  • Claps his hands--yay!!
First time to go swimming, at the lake on Memorial Day weekend--loved it! Now he swims every afternoon.
    Water Baby!
    'Get me out of here!"
This is the face I've been seeing a lot of at nap time, now that he stands up in his crib.

Daddy and Preston's matching outfits, head to toe!
Liam over for a Sunday Funday. The boys are in matching outfits too! Liam is the only other baby I know that is bigger than Preston. Big Boys! Here P is trying to stand.

Memorial Day weekend, we went to Katie Dotson's parents house for some swimming and great burgers! Here are Preston and Jesse, in a coincidental "Who Wore it Best" showdown. Place your vote people.

Playdate at Jennie's house, here with Liam and Watson

You can see his hair here; it's really starting to finally come in, slowly but surely.
