Three Years Ago
Three years ago tonight, on a cold and rainy November night, I married my best friend. Happy Anniversary Brett! I can't believe how much we've accomplished in three years. Both got new jobs and moved to Houston, made so many great new friends here, bought and completely remodeled a house, started our family off with an adorable puppy, traveled to Europe, and now...the best accomplishment yet, had a beautiful baby boy!
Here's a look back at our wedding night...
Then...we were off to Maui to stay at the Four Seasons Resort and Spa!
What I wouldn't give to be back there right now...ahh. One day.
I love you, Brett.

Happy Birthday Brett!
Today is my husband Brett's 31st birthday! I can't believe it's been a year since I threw him his fiesta themed 30th birthday party. We've accomplished a lot in the last year though. A trip to Europe AND a full 9 months of pregnancy.
This year we're keeping it pretty low key since I could pretty much go into labor at any minute. We had a fun dinner last night with friends at Yard House, and tonight I am cooking him his favorite meal, Bayou Bend Cornbread Casserole, {and a chocolate birthday cake} while he watches football.
I love you, Brett. I'm so proud of you! You deserve all the happiness in the world!
Winston is ready to party and celebrate!

I'm an Aunt!
My sweet little nephew, Holt Cannon Kummer, was born Tuesday night around 7:55 pm. He weighed 8 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long, and he is just as precious as can be. I can't wait to meet him this weekend!
Congratulations Shea and Kyle!

My Husband's Back!
My husband is home!! For the past 5 weeks Brett has been working overseas in Macedonia on a project for his company, Fluor. I didn't want to blog about it too much (for fear of creepy stalkers knowing I was home alone) but now that he's back I could not be happier! Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Well, I've always been fond of my husband. But since he's been home I've been following him around like a sick puppy dog. I just want to be in the same room as him. Even if he is talking on the phone to someone, I just want to listen to his voice and be near to him. It's easy to take forgranted having a loving spouse, until he's halfway around the world and the only communication you have with him is a terrible computer connection on skype.
I picked him up last night at the airport and security let me leave my car in the pick up line (I know, unheard of!) so I could run inside to the baggage claim area and surprise him. They even let me take Winston inside, even though pets aren't allowed. I guess they felt bad for the pregnant lady who hasn't seen her husband in 5 weeks. Winston and I snuck up behind him and gave him a great big bear hug. We both couldn't stop smiling! It's just so good to have my best friend back! And I'm so proud of Brett.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Fathers Day to the Best Dad in the world, MINE!! Here's how he spent his day:
Church and Brunch with the family (This part was great and probably the highlight of his day)
Then it probably went downhill...
- He planted 3 rosebushes for me
- He trimmed the dead branches off our palm tree in the driveway
- He went to Leslie's and bought new equipment for our pool, and then came home and cleaned it
- He took me to Home Depot to buy the crown moulding for Preston's nursery, as well as the following items: a new hose, a new sprinkler, new air filters, and blinds for our upstairs bathroom
- He changed some lightbulbs around the house that I couldn't reach
- He watered the grass
- He brushed Winston for me and untangled most of his knots in his ears
I feel guilty that his whole day was about helping me, and it should have been the other way around, but I just have that kind of Dad. Home Depot was EMPTY, I mean, who makes their husbands/dads go to Home Depot on Father's Day!! He did get to watch the US Open in between all these tasks.
And it's not just my dad who is so great! Here's what my mom did while Dad was busy:
- Went to the grocery store to stock up my pantry
- Cooked a delicious dinner for us at my house
- Cleaned my house
- Washed sheets and put them back on
- Worked in the yard as well
- Took Winston on a walk
I love you Mom and Dad!
Happy Fathers Day, Dad!
