Remember me?

Well hello there. Remember me?  It's been 10 months since my last blog post. I guess I kinda quit the blog. I got behind and then was just staying busy as a Mommy/Wife/Friend/Daughter/Sister/etc. and before I knew it 10 months had gone by!

So much has happened, so I'll go over the different area of our lives just to catch everyone up to speed.

The biggest change is our living situation. I can't believe I am writing this, but we sold our house and we are MOVING out to the 'burbs! (Katy) If you know me well, you probably thought we were never going to make a decision on this. Brett and I have probably been debating this move for the past year, and it feels good to finally make a decision on this. We absolutely loved our house and neighborhood in Memorial, but we are excited about this next chapter. I think there will be so many more people our age and with kids Preston's age, so that will be wonderful. Plus we get much more space to spreadout--a game room/big backyard with no pool (thank goodness), and a sunroom--just some of the things I'm excited about! The only disadvantage to moving out to Katy is the distance from the city, and I will totally miss being so close to everything, but at the end of the day, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages for us. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous (okay, a lot), but at the end of the day I really feel in my heart this is the best thing for our family, and that's all that matters. It's just sad because we have the best memories in that house--renovating it together as newlyweds, all of our Christmas parties and entertaining we did there, the Halloween parades, bringing our first baby home from the hospital, decorating his nursery--tear. All such great memories that I'll remember forever.

We found a new construction home with Village Builders that we absolutely love out in Cinco Ranch. We put the earnest money down in May, listed our house a few weeks later, sold it in ONE day, moved out in mid-July, and have been staying with my parents for a couple weeks until our new house is ready. It's been a whirlwind of a summer! We finally get to move into our new home FRIDAY and we could not be more excited!

I will get to start fresh again with all new decorating projects, so for those of you that come to the blog for decorating pictures--I'll try my best to share progress and sources.

In other news, Preston is just the light of my life, as usual. He's now 22 months and I wish I could bottle him up at this age and keep him this way forever. He is talking up a storm and there are new words every day. I think its just adorable that he chooses to call Winston "Woof-Woof," and his Binky "De-De." He's got his own little language and no matter how many times that I try to get him to call Winston Winston, every time we come home he says "Hi Woof-Woof!" So I guess that's his new name ;) He is obsessesd with all things cleaning--the vacuum cleaner, the lawn mower, his drill gun, the broom, scrubbing the floors, and my mom even bought him a toy "blower." He's like a little janitor and cleans up after everyone. I'm sure this won't last--but it sure is cute.

If you go to YouTube and search for "Put down the pacifier: Bye Bye Binky Song" you will see that it has been watched 1,121,040 times. I'm sure Preston has singlehandedly bumped up that number to the millions. He asks to watch it probably 50 times a day, and sings the song all day long. It is seriously the cutest video--you must watch it! The lyrics are adorable...and Elmo as a baby is too cute! My favorite line--"When Elmo was blue, only binky would do..." This is how my evening routine of singing to Preston goes:

Me: Jesus loves me this I know, For the bible-
Preston: Bye Bye Binky, Binky Bye Bye...
Me: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, How I wonder...
Preston: Bye Bye...Binky....

You get the picture--its the only song he wants to sing and he belts it at the top of his lungs. So funny! And no matter how many times I tell him "Mommys don't use Binkys," he is always trying to shove it in my mouth to share with me. He will take 2 or 3, and when I take one away from him, he just puts the other one in. A definite double-fister. I dread the day when we have to take his binky away, and I know its probably quickly approaching. :(

Anyways, that's it for tonight. All is well in the Kummer household. Thank you for all your sweet notes telling me to continue the blog. I've heard from some of the nicest people, so I will try my hardest to continue updates and share decorating projects when I get the time. I'll leave you with a couple pictures of Preston this summer--
