Thursday morning, we said our goodbyes to Preston (this was our first time to leave him) and headed to the airport, leaving behind a novel I had written with instructions for my parents. He was in great hands and forgot I existed the minute we left. I was sad for a quick second, but then I remembered we were headed to CABO! Abby was on our flight so she came over to ride to the airport with us.
Here we (us and our hats) are arriving at our hotel, the fabulous Hilton Los Cabos.
The hotel was heaven on earth, just paradise!
As soon as we arrived, we put on our swimwear and were off to the pool.
Thursday night, we got dressed and headed into town for drinks and dinner. Brett and I had originally planned to do a "date night" dinner, just the two of us, but upon arrival, quickly changed our minds and decided to meet up with friends for dinner. We have the rest of our lives to have date nights, right?
We did not plan to all coordinate our colors. Abby and I always joke when three people dress similar, yet different, that we are destiny's child. ha ha. See what I mean below...
Okay, now away from the year 2000 and back to our trip....
Here we are walking along the downtown area. We stopped and had drinks at a beach bar with swings.
Below is a picture of where we ate--Edith's Restaurant. It was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. I was in awe of the darling lantern lights that hung everywhere!
Day #2--Friday Lindsey and Jeramy arrived and this added a whole new level of fun. Here we are exchanging some great, juicy gossip on the beach.
Friday night was Rebecca and John's Rehearsal Dinner. John gave the most heartfelt speech to his bride-to-be, we were treated to some delicious empanadas on the beach, and afterwards enjoyed s'mored by the fire. The whole evening was perfect and so memorable. Here we are below with the soon to be Mr. and Mrs.
Here are the girls attempting a jumping picture on the beach...
And after all the hoop-la of getting the perfect in-air shot, the husbands had to have a turn...They can't all coordinate their jumps though, so the picture was a FAIL.
Day 3- Wedding Day!
Here I am poolside with the bride!
This is just about what every day looked like.
Emerged in the pool + Fruity Cocktail + Great Friends + every now and then a "Who Wore it Best" competition = Woo Hoo! (In real Housewife Vicki's voice!)
Here are some of my favorite photos from the wedding. Rebecca was a vision in flowing chiffon on the beach. She and John looked so happy and I was so honored to be a part of such a beautiful ceremony celebrating their love.
The reception site was breathtaking. All white linens, white lantern lights, and the most beautiful view of the ocean. We danced all night and could not have had more fun!
Below, Mr. and Mrs. Squinty Squinty-son. We both can't open our eyes without sunglasses.
The night ended with all of the bridesmaids jumping in the pool. Not sure why we felt the need to do this, but it was fun, and the word is Rebecca watched us from her balcony. Rebecca, can you confirm or deny this?
The next day was Sunday and it was time for us to head home. All of our friends called the airlines and extended their trip by an extra day. We contemplated this for a second, but truth be told, I was sure I had already tried every fruity drink on the menu at the hotel and I was ready to get home to see my boy!
We had the best time, had a lot of laughs, and enjoyed spending the weekend with old friends and new. It was a joy getting to see one of my best friends marry the love of her life in such an exotic and beautiful destination. Congratulations Rebecca and John!
