Summer Reading
It's going to be a quiet weekend for me. Brett is still working overseas and Winston is with his grandpa at the lake, so I plan on just curling up inside (where there is ample air conditioning!) and reading all weekend. I just love reading a good book in the summertime. My mother-in-law and my mom both just read "The Help" so I started reading it too based on their rave reviews. It is so good that I can't put it down! I'm not even half-way through but I can't wait to see what happens next. It is based in the 60's when racial segragation was rampant, and it truly is inspiring to see how far this country has come in the last 50 years. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend you pick up a copy and start reading it today. I've been at a conference all week in Denver and for every 15 minute break, I run up to the room and read a chapter before I head back down. That's how good it is!

How funny! I just saw that in a magazine and wanted to check it out. Think I'm going to get an account at the Heights Public Library so I will stop splurging on too many books at Target!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this - so glad you posted about it. I'm in the middle of Laura Bush's autobiography - great read, too!
